Day 2

SHAKESPEARE, CATHEDRALS & SHOP HOUSES

DAY: Saturday

CITY: London

TIME: 05:00 (England Time)

WEATHER: 12-13 degrees, partly cloudy

Rise and shine at 5am in order to catch an early breakfast before joining up with the tour group at about 7.45am. The traditional British breakfast, bacon and eggs, was more than filling. Kind of the chef to allow us to prepare breakfast before the original time. This was the first day of my 8 day tour.

Stratford (Birthplace of Shakespeare)

TIME to Stratford: 1hr45mins

WEATHER: 12-13 degrees, strong breeze

We arrived in Stratford at about 9.30am and paid a visit to the museum which shared the history of William Shakespeare; who was also borne in the same place. I’M STANDING WHERE SHAKESPEARES WAS BORN, OMG; HAHAHAHA. English literature was never my best subject, but I made full use of my time there to absorb all that I could; something Eoin and Kelvin would most definitely understand much more than me. Once again, no photography except for the exteriors.

Allow me to share a bit of an embarrassing moment with you; walked into a room which was supposedly Shakespeare slept. On one corner was a rocking chair with a lady on it, reading some papers. Going over curiously to look at the papers, she suddenly moved which sent me stumbling back 3-4 steps and sent me in a state of shock. I was relieved though that only my aunt and her friend an ONE other person was in the room. DAMN was that something, kind of like from the show “GOTCHA”.

Shakespeare's garden

Awwww, i'm going to pay baby shakespeare's ward a visit, just kidding. hahaha

Look at the tree poppin from my head, looks like an umbrella. you can stand under it. HEHE.

What you looking at? look at the house behind me, thats shakespeare's house

A little glimpse of the museum.

A glimpse of Stratford.

I won't be fooled twice in 2 hours. =p

Coventry

TIME to Conventry: 30mins

WEATHER: 15-16 degrees, windy

Had to settle our own lunch back in Stratford before a next stop at the Coventry. Well, lets just look at the pictures.

Lady Godiva

Coventry Cathedral

Good will always triumph over evil.

THE VIEW

I have no idea what this stone is. but just thought it would be nice to add some touch to it. HAHAHA. sound so egoistic. it's a very nice stone. hehe.

I think this is the ECCE HOMO

Father forgive my sins.

Once again, the view

York

TIME to York: 2hrs

WEATHER: 15-16 degrees, slightly dry

The first bit of shopping took place here in York. Quite a nice place, lots of shopping can be done, quite some scenes and a nice river.

The busy streets of York

Look at all em people

One small little market.

There I is, somewhere along the streets.

Now you would expect me to buy these cute little things, but i got something else and did not want to spend so much in 1 day. ohhh how i would look back at this pic always. bez, kel, please kill me when i get back or maybe you can change your mind when you see what was the other thing i bought. MOTHERF*****, i'm not insulting anyone, but that is the clue.

One of the cathedrals in York. someone was getting married, really

Horsey, isn't she B.E.A.U.tiful?

Look closely at the sign on the right, its my place. HAHAHA

The nice little river.

Now if i were to put up all the pics from york i won't be able to sleep tonight. But here is a picture of the bus with my tour director, Vic Allen. I told you i'll make you famous. Haha. Very nice guy.

Harrogate

TIME to Harrogate: 20mins

WEATHER: 17-19 degress

Heard of this little town? Neither have I, but it was where our hotel; “The Holiday Inn”, was located at.

This is how the outside looks like. Its a four star hotel without free wireless, damn it.

1st view of the room

2nd view of the room

The restaurant

Potatoes + beef + vegetables = satisfying dinner

Its red....

Its white.

Dinner was good and upon finishing, went back to the hotel room to prepare for the night during which I realized a few things during my 2 days here:

1) The waiters and waitresses here are not friendly at all except for a few; however they are for more brilliant in ability compared to waiters back home; miles ahead of us. As a waiter once myself (not a bad too I might add, hahahahah), they are much more capable then most back home.

2) The ang mohs usually only hung out with the other ang mohs, leaving us Asians to be on our own. Hahahah, but hey, that’s their choice.

3) There is an Asian pair on the same tour as us, so we are not alone. MUAHAHAHAHA. Looks to be from ROCG (I’m not going to say what this means, hahahaha), while speak like Singaporeans. So I’m guessing they are Singaporeans.

4) I’ve drank just about as much alcohol in as many days, and I have no intentions of slowing down. Hehehe.

5) This one is aimed towards Ila especially or to anyone who wishes to bet me in the future; the Brits are much much much more daring with their stakes. On the way to the hotel, some guy was wearing a pink dress and a pink wig and walking around in public and waving into the public buses. SO OH MY TIAN!!! So hilarious and better still his friends were walking along with him. Ila, we should have stakes like that in future. MUAHAHAHAH

6) The Scottish accent is much harder to understand compared to the English.

7) A lot of animals can be seen along the highway; horses, cows, sheep, goat.

8) There are many different ways that people here refer to the toilet; lavatories, bathrooms, washrooms, restrooms, ladies and gents but more unknown was calling the toilet the “water closet”. Hahahahah.
