Day 9

AU REVOIR AND ADIOS TRAFALGAR

DAY: Saturday

LOCATION: Bath

TIME: 09:30

WEATHER: 8-9 degrees, windy

Leaving the Marriott for the city of Bath. This was the last day of the tour. Its actually kind of sad even though I don’t most of the people there, but they always had a way of making me laugh. Hahaha. Well, but on to more things now. The city of Bath was still very much like a Roman city. Visited the Roman Baths for about an hour or so.

This is not in Bath yet. We stopped by some place which looked like that.

And had flowers like that growing.

The whole tour group; with the bus in the background.

Well, these 2 gentlemen have been taking us around UK for the past 8 days. Thanks very much guys. From L to R: John Ward and Vic Allen. Bus driver and tour director respectively.

Look at them trying to take pictures of the group. haha. Vic is struggling so bad.

The Roman Baths from the outside

The Great Bath

Sacred place.

Deep deep water. you don't wanan fall in it.

Don't know who this is.

Don't know who she is also even though her name is there.

The eastern bath.

Talk to me, tell me your name.

Can't remember what this place is.

The view of Bath from on top.

Leaving Bath, we went to the site of Stonehenge. This is the oldest piece of ancient history left in the whole of Europe. So to go there and see it is like epic. On the way there, I was thinking how people take advantage of these kind of things, making people pay just to go see some rocks. Maybe its to preserve it so it won’t be vandalized? I don’t know but whoever thought of it probably didn’t have to do much to start up the whole thing.

Stonehenge and its many visitors. Bloody sunny day.

It must be so old that even dinosaurs were around with them.

I told you i love rocks.

And if you're still not convinced, i don't know what to say anymore. hahaha.

The best shot of stonehenge we got. Look at the clear blue sky. You rarely get that in Singapore.

LOCATION: Salisbury

TIME: 12:45

WEATHER: 20 degrees, sunny

One final stop in the city of Salisbury before heading back to London. It was the first time in my 9 days here that I’ve eaten McDonalds. They have some really interesting choices on the menu though, a McChicken premiere. It was here that I also saw lots of girls. Hahahaha.

LOCATION: London

TIME: 18:00

WEATHER: 19-21 degrees, evening sun

After approximately 2,197km, we finally arrive back in London. Its time to say goodbye to the others who were also on the tour. But more importantly, farewell Vic; farewell John. Vic has been, in my opinion, very good as our tour director. As for John, he is a funny guy and thanks for driving us around. The rides were very comfortable and that’s why I probably fell asleep most of the time. Well, I didn’t take pictures upon arrival cause they all look the same as when I left. While looking for dinner, I was elated to see a shop selling rice and noodles. For too long have I not had them. well, its of to Paris via the Eurostar tomorrow. And all this while I haven’t been able to get internet access to post this on the blog, I’ve been saving all this on a word document to post later. But just so you know, Days 8 & 9 were typed while I was on the Eurostar.

On this tour, I have noticed a few things about the places and happenings and the people on tour:

1) The Terracotta Army display arrived in London in the middle of the tour. It must be here because I am in the vicinity so I can visit it. hahahaha, I’m only joking.

2) Scotland
beat France in the Euro qualifiers while I was in Glasgow. Must have been the blessing of my presence that drove them on to victory. Hahaha, I’m also joking.

3) The tour director is so knowledgeable about the places its like he was from that time. hahaha.

4) I drew a comparison between one of my tour group members. He had a canny resemblance to “uncle fester” from the cartoon “Addams Family”. Haha. I know, I sound so mean.

5) Let me take you back to Primary school science; remember how solid objects contract when exposed to cold, I wonder if I had shrinked over the course of those few days. Ahhaha

6) For some reason, I don’t really pay attention to what day it is here.
